1.	What does SAIC stand for?
	The original name of the company was Science Applications Incorporated (SAI). In 1984, the company changed its formal name to Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC).

	SAIC is a FORTUNE 500® scientific, engineering, and technology applications company that uses its deep domain knowledge to solve problems of vital importance to the nation and the world, in national security, energy and the environment, critical infrastructure and health.

Who are SAIC's major customers?

SAIC's largest customer is the U.S. Government, in the aggregate accounting for 89 percent of our total consolidated revenues in fiscal 2010. Within the U.S. Government, our largest customers for fiscal 2010 were the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy. These customers have a number of subsidiary agencies which have separate budgets and procurement functions. Our contracts may be with the highest level or with the subsidiary agencies of these customers.

Has SAIC made any acquisitions recently?

The acquisition of businesses is part of our growth strategy and we expect that a portion of our growth will come from recent and future acquisitions. During the last eight fiscal years, we completed more than 30 acquisitions, including the following:

In fiscal year 2011, we acquired CloudShield Technologies, Inc., a leading cybersecurity and management solutions provider. We also acquired Reveal Imaging Technologies, Inc., a leading threat detection products and services company.
In fiscal year 2010, we acquired R.W. Beck Group, Inc., a leading provider of business and technical consulting services in engineering, energy and infrastructure. We also acquired Atlan, Inc., a cybersecurity product testing firm, and Science, Engineering and Technology Associates.
In fiscal year 2009, we acquired Icon Systems, Inc., a recognized leader in the design, development and production of state-of-the-art laser-based systems and products for military training and testing. We also acquired SM Consulting, Inc., a leading provider of services in language, intelligence, information technology, management consulting, business process outsourcing, training, and logistics to federal, state and local governments and private industry.
In fiscal year 2008, we acquired The Benham Companies LLC, a consulting, engineering, and architectural design company with specific competencies in industrial manufacturing and facilities construction.
In fiscal year 2007, we acquired Applied Marine Technology, Inc., a provider of training, systems engineering and integration, information systems and communications, and rapid prototyping of technical solutions and products focused on support to intelligence and special warfare operations.
In fiscal year 2006, we acquired Geo-Centers, Inc., and its subsidiary, EAI Corporation, an engineering and professional services firm, providing research and development for chemical and biological detection, infrastructure assessment and protection, life science research, rapid response equipment and support, and sensor systems and integration.
In fiscal year 2005, we acquired ProcureNet Holdings, Inc., a provider of electronic procurement, logistics and supply chain management services for the Department of Defense and other federal customers.
In fiscal year 2004, we acquired Eagan, McAllister Associates, Inc., a provider of information technology (IT) services focused on aviation and command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence programs supporting the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Army, and Special Operations Command and Computer Systems Technology, Inc., a provider of IT, engineering, programmatic, and logistics services to government customers in the U.S.

6.	How many employees does SAIC have?
	SAIC and its subsidiaries have approximately 45,000 full and part-time employees in offices worldwide.

What year and where was SAIC incorporated?

SAIC was founded in 1969 by Dr. J. Robert Beyster and a small group of nuclear scientists and physicists with a couple of consulting contracts from Los Alamos and Brookhaven National Laboratories. In the second year of operation, Dr. Beyster gave 90 percent of the ownership in SAIC to the employees, retaining 10 percent for himself. This event started employee ownership of stock at SAIC. SAIC originally was incorporated as a California corporation in 1969 and re-incorporated as a Delaware corporation in 1984.
