SAIC Delivers 1 Millionth Tire on Behalf of the Defense Logistics Agency

Company celebrates five years of delivering military aircraft and ground vehicle tires to U.S. military bases worldwide

McLean, Va., July 26, 2016 --Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC) has delivered its 1 millionth tire to the National Training Center in Fort Irwin, California as part of the Defense Logistics Agency’s Tire Successor Initiative (TSI) program.

SAIC is in its fifth year as the prime contractor for the TSI contract, which is worth potentially $1.1 billion over seven years, which includes a two-year option period. As part of the contract, SAIC provides DLA with supply chain management services to procure, store, and deliver land and aircraft tires used by the U.S. Armed Services and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers. Under the contract, SAIC is responsible for the on-time delivery of military aircraft and ground vehicle tires to U.S. military bases around the globe, including Afghanistan, Iraq, and more than 60 foreign allies.

For DLA, SAIC is the prime contractor for the Maintenance Repair and Operations (MRO) Tailored Logistics Support (TLS) programs in the Hawaii, Northeast, South Central, and Southwest regions of the U.S. SAIC also supports the Anniston and Red River Army depots Industrial Product-Support Vendor Generation II, the Navy Integrated Prime Vendor Generation III, and the Privatization of Chemicals, Packaged Petroleum, Oils, and Lubricants programs.

As a DLA Supply-Chain Alliance member, SAIC has received multiple Vendor Excellence awards for its outstanding quality and delivery performance over the last five years, including a Business Alliance Award (BAA) for its support during relief efforts following Hurricane Sandy and was named one of DLA's Superior Suppliers, Gold Category, for fiscal year 2015.
